A Classic Favorite is Reinvented

How do you celebrate the 25th anniversary of an iconic fragrance with a fiercely loyal following (that may be an understatement)?

To honor our beloved Goldleaf, the traditional gift of silver was not going to suffice. Instead, we created a completely new fragrance that celebrates our beautifully bold classic in a more modern way. We’re delighted to introduce Goldleaf Gardenia.

As our Fragrance Designer, Stacy Brown, describes it, “Goldleaf Gardenia is a reinterpretation of Goldleaf. Following fragrance trends and popular notes, it’s what Goldleaf would be if it were launched today. It’s a more fresh and watery scent, softer and prettier—more demure.”

 

A Fresh Take


When you walk into a room wearing Goldleaf, you’re making a statement. While classic Goldleaf has a tenacity not usually found in fragrances today, Goldleaf Gardenia is more understated.

But we think it will appeal to all of our die-hard Goldleaf fans too. Maybe you’ll wear Goldleaf Gardenia for a softer, everyday fragrance—maybe to the office—reserving your bolder Goldleaf for special occasions.

“We’ve kept the heart of Goldleaf with the florals, but they’re not as heavy; they’re more fresh and dewy, on trend with today’s fragrances. And you still get the beautiful sparkling top notes with a hint of mandarin,” Stacy says.

 

Head Over Heels


Given the positive reception so far, it won’t be long before Goldleaf Gardenia garners its own fan club, with customers falling in love with the fragrance, just like they did with Goldleaf 25 years ago.

Our charming new addition received very high marks from our fragrance panelists. In fact, the reinvented classic is our top-paneled fragrance so far. And the love doesn’t stop there. Everybody at Thymes headquarters seems to be a bit gaga about it too.

“When we were testing it, everyone wanted their own samples to take home. When those would run out, they’d want more. People were crazy about it—it’s just so fresh and clean,” Stacy recalls. “We’ve gotten tons of positive feedback from our field reps too, with lots of oohs and ahhs about the packaging.”

 

Pretty In Pink


Of course, Goldleaf Gardenia wouldn’t be a Thymes fragrance if it weren’t as gorgeous to behold as it is to wear.

“The packaging kept a lot of the same Goldleaf design elements. We lightened the palette and gave it a pretty and playful feminine design quality—pinks, peaches and creams—to reflect the nature of the fragrance. And we kept the metallic foil but changed it to rose gold. With gold being a classic and rose gold being more on trend and contemporary.” Stacy explains.

Our initial launch introduces five core products to the Goldleaf Gardenia family: body creme, body wash, hand creme, an eau de parfum and an adorable petite eau de parfum packaged in beautiful Italian glass. Since these are our bestselling products, we’ll be offering those exclusively first, and we will likely add new products in the future.

I miss not having Filigree in the bar soap. Wouldn't it be nice to have it in the dusting powder? When you stopped production of Filigree a few years ago, I was frantic. I paid 100.00 for a bottle of Filigree on E-Bay. That is how much I love Filigree.

Seriously obsessed with this fragrance. The candle is INCREDIBLE. Everything about this, is just a major hit. Our customers are sure to love it once our shipment arrives! I'm not lying when I say I drove a few cities over to go get a candle just cause the mailed sample wasn't enough. Love, love, love it!
