The much anticipated changing of the seasons is here and it’s filled with turning leaves, crisper air, cozy blankets and lots of fun traditions. At Thymes, fall means crushed clove, spicy cardamom, rich bourbon, freshly-pressed apples, malted rum, smoldering spices and a new, cozy drink inspired fragrance! The latest addition to the Thymes Holiday Portfolio is teeming with inspiration and tradition to help usher in the changing season with style.
Stirred with anticipation for the beauty of fall, one of our marketing team members, Natalie, threw a seasonal kick-off party inspired by the new Simmered Cider Collection and is full of ideas for decorating, celebrating and throwing your own fall bash.
The fragrance was inspired by traditions, festive copper and metallic accents and a cider recipe that had been passed down by one of our team member’s families, so there’s a lot of thought and detail that has been put into this collection. Also, it’s just such a fun concept to enjoy seasonal-inspired drinks with friends and family!
I invited some of my friends over for just that – festive food and drinks and had fun with decorating to set the perfect mood for the occasion.
I started with making the Simmered Cider recipe that I got from Amy Banks, our Sr. Brand Leader for Thymes Home, that inspired the whole Simmered Cider collection. It’s best to start this well in advance to allow plenty of time for the apples and spices to fully mull for ultimate flavor. I made a double batch of the recipe to be enough for 10 or more people and it worked out perfectly as the main attraction of the party!
Each drink was served in the reusable Simmered Cider Candle Mugs which are great to use apple slices or cinnamon sticks for garnishing each drink. After the party, I gifted each guest with their very own Simmered Cider Poured Candle Mug for their own enjoyment that they could eventually drink cider in as well.
Since I had plenty of apples and cinnamon, I also decided to make a quick and easy side dish for the guests as well. The apple bake is super easy – just cut up tart apples and layer in a loaf tin with layers of cinnamon, honey and dried cranberries. This can be baked at 400° for 20 min.
While the cider was brewing and the apple bake was in the oven, I gave the space small touches of seasonal décor to liven up the theme of the fall-inspired party. I pulled inspiration from the copper and neutral tones of the Simmered Cider packaging as well as added some touches of white marble and seasonal flowers (dried flowers work great also) to complete the look. For more fall décor inspiration, I’ve created a board you can shop directly from – have fun with it!
We’re so excited about the launch of our fall-inspired fragrance, Simmered Cider, and hope that it also inspires you to kick-off fall celebrations in style with friends and loved ones! Enjoy the Simmered Cider recipe for yourself below – cheers! .
