Ingredient Feature: Thymes Phytomarine Complex

Goodness from the Sea

Our tears are salty. Our blood, briny. Our electrolytes, an ionic saline solution. And our intercellular fluids? Like a potent pool of seawater.

In many ways, we are creatures of the sea. Thymes Phytomarine Complex celebrates this fact to support the healthy function and appearance of the skin.

Specially formulated by Thymes chemists for our marine-inspired Azur collection, this sophisticated complex helps restore the skin with a beneficial blend of sea herbs, minerals and vitamins. To revitalize the complexion, it combines sea plant extracts of sea kelp, spirulina and bladderwrack, sea minerals and antioxidant vitamins C and E, along with the precious oil of the evening primrose plant.

For centuries, kelp and its kin have been hailed for their moisturizing and soothing abilities. Marine botanicals, primarily seaweed, contain many of the same minerals and trace elements as seawater, but in higher concentrations, along with vitamins and antioxidants.

Cultures living near coast shores have long recognized the healing properties of the sea. A therapeutic regimen called thalassotherapy is practiced from France to Japan to Israel, most noteworthy around the Dead Sea, one of the world’s first health resorts. The saltwater baths associated with thalassotherapy have long been used to treat digestive, circulatory and arthritic conditions, while improving the complexion.

So when your skin feels like something that’s been washed up by the surf, reach for what it may need most: a dose of healing sea elements. You can find them, combined with a refreshingly gentle marine fragrance, in Azur.
