Many people have strong soda pop preferences. Some lean toward brown eggs over white. Others think laundry powders are better than liquid. Six of one, half-dozen of the other.
The politics of the bar soap seem similarly split. If you grew up using body wash, your hand instinctively reaches for a container full of sweet-smelling liquid. But many others feel they aren’t really clean unless they’ve lathered up with a bar of soap.
If that’s your tune, this blog posting is for you.
At Thymes, we’re proud to cater to all cleansing preferences. Indeed, all our bath and body collections feature bar soap.
For anyone who has studied the soap-making practices of colonial America, the days of lye, coal ash and animal fats are long gone. (How those worked as heavy-duty cleansers boggles the mind!) Indeed, the soaps Thymes blends today are a world apart, falling into two categories: glycerin and triple-milled.
Here’s the difference:
Glycerin soap: Is made with humectant glycerin, an all-vegetable ingredient that draws moisture to the skin while it cleanses away impurities. In appearance, its translucence offers a colorful gem-like quality, plus it offers excellent fragrance retention and ability to keep skin hydrated.
Triple-milled soap: Also made from all-vegetable ingredients, this gentle moisturizing soap goes through a “French” milling process to make it ultra creamy and rich. Additional ingredients, such as exfoliating apricot kernels, heighten the cleansing experience. Also true to the fragrances they’re enriched with, our triple-milled skin-conditioning soaps lather luxuriously.
Scented soaps make an outstanding gift—we all need to get clean, right?—as a stocking stuffer or hostess offering. Better still, they’re unisex, good for both gander and goose.
For a gift with even more oomph, we offer the Mandarin Coriander Bar Soap - a clever combination of refreshing, odor-neutralizing soap that comes with its own porcelain container. And as the holiday season nears, fans of Frasier Fir will certainly relish a gift of Frasier Fir Bar Soap.

I am so disappointed that I can no longer find the bar soap in Aqua Coralline. I use the body wash but my current bar of soap is quickly diminishing (and it has cracked after it dried) but I still love it. I love all of the Aqua Coralline products.
I love the Lotus Sandal bar soap. The rectangular version was terrific. For some reason, you changed over to an oval shape and in addition to this the soap changed. It cracks and falls apart withing a few uses. It also does not smell as nicely. It also is hard to find without having to buy the oval tray. I am suggesting that you re-introduce the rectangular version with it's original properties. I stopped buying the oval one, but would happily return for the rectangular version.
Everything you do is wonderful!
Love your scents.. .they are so refreshing and great!
I'm sure all the soaps are wonderful. I would like to try the Lavender or the Gold Leaf.
